We are excited to introduce Gabriela Kodama, a dedicated PhD student in toxicology, as the newest member of the Bouchard lab. Gabriela comes to us with a strong foundation in biotechnology, having earned her undergraduate degree in Brazil. Her research experience includes key areas such as mutagenesis, toxicology, DNA damage, cell culture, and investigations into drugs and natural compounds, particularly in human carcinoma lineages.

What Gabriela Brings to the Team
Gabriela possesses a comprehensive set of laboratory skills. She is proficient in microscopy, PCR, and Western blotting techniques, as well as in protein quantification and assay preparation, including Comet, Micronucleus, and MTT assays. Her experience extends to cell culture techniques involving human renal carcinoma and lymphocyte cultures. Additionally, Gabriela is skilled in DNA and RNA extraction and bioinformatics.
In the Bouchard lab, Gabriela applies a quantitative analytical framework to multiplexed immunofluorescence images to explore spatial features associated with radioresistance in various lung adenocarcinoma mouse models.
Looking Ahead
As Gabriela begins this exciting chapter in her career, we believe her contributions will be transformative. Keep an eye out for updates on Gabriela’s progress and the collaborative initiatives of our lab!
